Chip Design Internship

About the role

C12 Quantum Electronics is seeking an intern to join its Chip Design team. You will work on the full development cycle, from design and simulation to low‑temperature measurements and data analysis, linking on‑chip component designs to real‑world performance.

Key responsibilities

• Simulate and compare chip designs, explore trade‑offs and analyse the gap between predicted and measured performance.
• Set up and operate the dilution refrigerator and associated measurement equipment according to experiment requirements.
• Carry out low‑temperature measurements, log data and process it to characterise component performance.
• Develop and maintain Python code for data analysis and visualisation, ensuring reproducibility.
• Document simulation methods, experimental procedures and results, and share findings with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or final year) in physics, engineering or a related field.
• Strong background in quantum physics; coursework in Quantum Electromagnetism is required.
• Interest in quantum technologies and hands‑on experimental work at cryogenic temperatures.
• Proficiency in Python programming for data analysis.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers and researchers from diverse technical backgrounds.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
