Superintendent - Maritime Vessels

About the role

Jifmar, a maritime services group founded in 2005 and operating across three continents with more than 850 employees, is looking for a Superintendent. Reporting to the Fleet Technical Director, the role covers the technical and operational management of a set of vessels, with a start date as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the technical and operational availability of the assigned vessels
• Maintain preventive and corrective maintenance in line with regulations, working with the crews
• Prepare, plan and monitor on-site technical stoppages
• Make sure reporting is effective in the CMMS
• Manage and monitor the budget for each vessel
• Audit the vessels according to company deadlines and requirements
• Enforce safety rules during travel to bases or vessels and provide specific training when needed
• Act as the link between Jifmar, Maritime Affairs and the Classification Society
• Take charge of and/or participate in newbuilds, refits and integration of new units into the fleet

Required profile

• Merchant Navy sailor (chief engineer or captain) wishing to work onshore, or a maritime graduate engineer
• More than 5 years of experience in the maritime sector
• Fluent English is essential
• Good communication skills, ability to propose ideas, be rigorous and work in a team

Required skills

• Technical and regulatory knowledge of the maritime environment
• Familiarity with national and international regulations

The position is based in Aix-en-Provence or Bayonne, with a salary of 50,000 to 52,000 EUR.
