Stress Engineer - Military Derivatives Program

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is recruiting several Stress Engineers (f/m) for its Stress Department (TADAA2) in Toulouse, France. The role is part of a new military program within the Military Derivatives department of Air Power, which is building a brand-new team. The position is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and validate metallic composites or hybrid structures from a stress point of view
• Write and/or check stress dossiers, reports and justifications, as well as test programs and reports
• Define justification approaches and follow up activities with the support of the Technical Authority and senior engineers
• Support manufacturing by assessing non-conformities
• Work closely with design engineers and interface with experts, civil and military authorities, internal and external engineering teams and subcontractors

Required profile

• Master's degree in an engineering school (mechanical or aerospace preferred)
• At least 3 years of experience in stress analysis
• Good communication skills and an autonomous, adaptable approach
• Open-minded, able to step back and propose new ideas
• Open to new digital technologies
• Advanced English and French; Spanish is a plus
• Security clearance or eligibility for it

• Good knowledge of Airbus calculation methods and tools
• Stress analysis of metallic composites and hybrid structures
