Solution Architect – Managing Consultant, Innovation Consulting

About the role

Mastercard’s Deploy team within Advisory & Customer Services is seeking a senior Solution Architect (Managing Consultant, Innovation Consulting) to lead the design and delivery of robust, scalable solutions for its clients. Based in Paris, you will work closely with Mastercard customers, delivery teams and product stakeholders to shape end‑to‑end architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural engagements, driving discovery, requirements definition and solution design for complex implementations.
• Define end‑to‑end solution architectures for projects involving Mastercard products such as Ethoca Clarity and Click to Pay, as well as client‑led initiatives and partner solutions.
• Act as the primary architectural authority for Deploy‑led engagements, guiding engineering teams and ensuring adherence to design standards.
• Balance client requirements with Mastercard security, scalability and maintainability standards while making architectural decisions.
• Produce high‑quality artefacts including solution diagrams, architecture decision records, integration designs and technical documentation.
• Communicate architecture clearly to diverse audiences, including client architects, developers, QA teams, product managers and senior stakeholders.
• Identify technical risks early and collaborate with delivery teams to resolve challenges and ensure successful outcomes.

Required profile

• Advanced experience designing and delivering solution architectures within banking, payments or broader financial services.
• Proven ability to work directly with clients, elicit requirements, manage ambiguity and drive alignment on architectural decisions.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex, distributed system architectures to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated collaboration with cross‑functional teams and ability to guide engineering delivery.
