Software Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

Scaleway is looking for a Software Engineer to help design and build core IaaS and PaaS components that power its sovereign cloud services. You will work in a collaborative, international team focused on creating reliable, scalable infrastructure for a growing portfolio of cloud and AI products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new IaaS/PaaS products from scratch, including APIs, backend services and worker processes.
• Add new features to existing cloud offerings and improve overall testing coverage and resilience.
• Write clear technical documentation for product usage and APIs.
• Ensure code maintainability and scalability through best‑practice engineering.
• Participate in operational “Run” rotations and resolve customer‑facing incidents.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Front‑end and Documentation teams.
• Propose innovative solutions and contribute to architecture discussions.
• Engage in team rituals such as peer reviews and pair programming.

Required profile

• Curious, methodical and passionate about cloud infrastructure.
• Initiative‑driven with a strong desire to propose and defend technical solutions.
• Effective team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Comfortable communicating in English, especially in written technical documentation.
• Eager to share knowledge and continuously improve as a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java).
• Experience building APIs and backend services.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts (IaaS, PaaS).
• Ability to write and maintain technical documentation.
