Senior Safety Officer – Flying Doctor

About the role

As a Senior Safety Officer for the Flying Doctor program, you will lead safety initiatives across multiple critical sites, ensuring a strong safety culture and compliance with regulations while supporting field teams in remote locations.

Key responsibilities

• Support safety teams on critical sites through inspections, coaching, training, accident investigations and action‑plan development.
• Develop and champion initiatives that reinforce a robust safety culture across all locations.
• Participate in Eramet Group prevention activities and analyse safety risks to propose prioritised action plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations on the ground and guide teams through continuous improvement.
• Deploy and audit safety management systems, especially the Group’s Essential Requirements, at intervention sites.
• Lead accident and incident analyses, identify root causes and monitor corrective actions.
• Apply technical knowledge of industrial equipment and processes to assess risks close to operational reality.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or Master’s with 10‑15 years of experience in industrial safety.
• Proven track record of implementing improvement plans in complex industrial environments.
• Strong persuasion, coaching and perseverance skills to engage field teams.
• Organisational and synthesis abilities in multicultural contexts.
• Excellent written communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Willingness to travel internationally and to remote sites (60‑70% of time).
• Fluent English.
