Senior Payroll Specialist

About the role

Maersk is looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to support its regional payroll organization. The role works with a matrixed group of stakeholders and vendors to ensure a great employee experience and regulatory compliance from a payroll delivery perspective.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pre-payroll, on-cycle payroll and off-cycle payroll processes
• Extract the T&A data and provide it to the payroll provider
• Validate payroll results and approve final pay credits based on control reports
• Carry out annual payroll reconciliation and prepare for the new payroll year
• Ensure timely social insurance tax payment and reporting
• Manage advance payments
• Adjust basic time configurations in the systems after initial implementation, as approved or required
• Track vendor deliverables against payroll SLAs using defined metrics
• Identify, report, mitigate and track risks in the payroll delivery process
• Support the payroll team lead in answering audit questions (internal and external)
• Manage the timely submission of RICC controls

Required profile

• Solid hands-on experience managing payroll and time and attendance processes in a complex international organization
• Knowledge of compliance and legal regulations for payroll and benefits
• Broad HR operations experience and exposure to an outsourced payroll model are a benefit
• Ability to engage diverse local HR stakeholders
• Analytical, detail-oriented and structured, with a proactive attitude and collaborative working style
• Fluency in English and French is essential
