Senior Manager, Global Decarbonization & Climate Transition

About the role

Capsugel, part of Lonza's Capsules & Health Ingredients business unit, is looking for a Senior Manager to design and implement its decarbonization and climate transition strategy, aligned with SBTi requirements and stakeholder expectations. The role covers own operations and procurement, defines Scope 1, 2 and 3 targets and milestones, and is based in Colmar.

Key responsibilities

• Scope 1 & 2: maintain a Capsugel roadmap against SBTi targets, coordinate regional sites and integrate site roadmaps including impact and CAPEX
• Scope 3: manage decarbonization plans for 4,000 active vendors and 500 million euros of spend, train procurement professionals and suppliers, and represent Lonza in external industrial bodies
• Provide Scope 3 data for disclosure to stakeholders, rating agencies and integrated reports, and develop a governance model and due diligence plan for supplier carbon data
• Develop and update policies, benchmark and recommend digital reporting, and integrate Scope 3 into procurement processes
• Assess data quality, follow up with suppliers on inconsistencies, and manage sustainability information flows for EHS, GRI, annual reports, social media and management presentations
• Contribute to the supply chain responsibility part of the Annual Sustainability report

Required profile

• Master's degree in materials science, chemistry, environmental science or another technical field; MBA or equivalent professional experience
• Fluent English; French is an asset
• Experience defining and implementing decarbonization roadmaps
• Project management experience
