Senior Legal Counsel - Securities Law

About the role

Euronext is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to handle all securities law matters arising from the development of Euronext Securities and the implementation of its strategic plan. The role involves anticipating and resolving legal challenges specific to the sector, especially cross-border regulation and compliance with European standards, and contributes to the structuring and development of Euronext Securities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on matters affecting Euronext's post-trade business units and their clients
• Provide legal expertise in securities law
• Manage responses to information, concerns and issues raised by clearing members, participants, issuers, custodians and other stakeholders
• Provide general legal support to the business operations of Euronext Securities (the 4 CSDs), including the application of the CSDR
• Track and monitor relevant legislation and regulation and help ensure compliance with governing law
• Align legal advice with the Euronext legal and regulation teams

Required profile

• 7 years of work experience, preferably from a law firm within banking and finance or from a bank
• Specialist knowledge of securities law
• Ability to advise with insight into the business and client needs, and to turn legal challenges into practical, business-supporting solutions
• Clear, concise and concrete communication, with the ability to build trust and credibility with colleagues

Required skills

• Fluent speaking and writing in French and English; good English skills
• Knowledge of the CSDR and securities law
