Senior Laboratory Technician – Microbiology & Biotechnology

About the role

Generare is building a discovery engine that combines synthetic biology, computational biology and automation to unlock the hidden potential of microbial natural products. As a Senior Laboratory Technician you will join the production team in Paris and help turn soil‑derived microbial samples into valuable therapeutic compounds.

Key responsibilities

• Perform microbial isolation, DNA extraction, PCR, strain transformation and Nanopore sequencing.
• Support cloning‑library construction, host‑strain transformation and fermentation under controlled conditions.
• Carry out organic extractions of microbial cultures to isolate bioactive small molecules.
• Prepare reagents, maintain laboratory equipment and ensure material readiness for daily workflows.
• Record protocols and experimental results in laboratory software with high rigor.
• Collaborate closely with the Production team to plan and execute workflows efficiently.

Required profile

• BTS, DUT or Licence in microbiology, biotechnology or molecular biology.
• 3–5 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a biotech or microbiology environment.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous record‑keeping.
