Senior Automotive Component Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Automotive Component Engineer to act as a subject‑matter expert for key vehicle modules. You will support client‑facing workshops, specification reviews, and technical cost analyses across the full vehicle development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review engineering specifications and flag over‑engineering.
• Challenge engineering assumptions, testing timelines, and certification requirements.
• Identify and quantify technical cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Support sizing of opportunities and assess feasibility of engineering changes.
• Participate in DtV and module workshops, translating technical expertise into actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• 10–20 years of hands‑on automotive engineering experience.
• Background as an Engineering Manager, Team Lead, Module Owner, Component Owner, or Senior Technical Specialist.
• Experience with OEM or Tier‑1 suppliers.
• Proven track record from concept development through validation, industrialisation, and SOP.
• Comfortable working with suppliers and cross‑functional engineering/procurement teams.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in one or more automotive components or modules (e.g., interior, seating, lighting, closures, bumpers, fascias, mirrors, glass, seals, roof systems, exterior trim).
• Strong knowledge of product development, system integration, validation, and module ownership.
• Ability to conduct technical workshops with client engineering teams.
