Sales Engineer – Data Center Solutions

About the role

The Sales Engineer provides technical support to the sales team, translating customer requirements into robust data‑center infrastructure solutions and ensuring they can be implemented and supported throughout the contract life.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and translate customer requirements into deliverable technical solutions for new, amendment and expansion projects.
• Validate solution feasibility across power, cooling, space and operational constraints, focusing on high‑power density and liquid‑cooling for AI/HPC workloads.
• Develop Capex cost models, assess risks and propose alternatives.
• Collaborate with the Design, fit‑out and internal teams on non‑standard requirements, ensuring accurate deployment‑ready designs.
• Build technical responses to RFIs/RFPs, validate non‑recurring costs and draft customer‑facing proposals.
• Support sales negotiations, reviewing technical drawings, rack layouts and contract clauses.
• Lead presales activities, technical site tours and workshops for hyperscale cloud providers and enterprise customers.
• Provide post‑sales technical support and help customers adopt company tools and services.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• 3–5+ years of experience in pre‑sales, sales engineering or solution design within data‑center, colocation, telecom or critical‑infrastructure environments.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of data‑center infrastructure, power and cooling systems.
• Understanding of AI compute requirements, GPU clusters and high‑performance networking.
• Ability to build cost models and assess technical/commercial risk.
• Experience responding to RFIs/RFPs and preparing technical proposals.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Visio.
