Sales Director EMEA - Industrial & New Defense

About the role

Hexcel, a global leader in advanced lightweight composite materials such as carbon fiber, resins, prepregs and honeycombs, is looking for a Sales Director EMEA covering Industrial and New Defense markets. The role executes annual and long-term sales growth targets for Industrial markets in EMEA, drives short-term growth in New Defense (flying drones, maritime drones, military ground vehicles, etc.) and contributes to the Industrial Business Strategy. It leads a team of sales professionals in Europe and can be based in Dagneux (France), Saronno (Italy) or remotely in another European location.

Key responsibilities

• Engage key customers at executive level to open doors to strategic product qualifications and serial sales.
• Negotiate and close long-term supply contracts with key accounts, especially in the automotive market.
• Lead the EMEA sales team: set objectives, manage goals, opportunities, risks and customer development, run performance reviews, build succession plans, set annual expense budgets and coordinate cross-customer, cross-region projects.
• Develop customer engagement plans, key account management, contract negotiations, receivables management and conflict resolution.
• Deliver Industrial sales in EMEA and drive short-term New Defense sales growth.
• Develop annual sales plans and action plans, and partner with R&T, Marketing and Operations on competitive offerings.
• Support the Industrial Strategic Plan with customer and market insights, and work with Product Management on competitor analysis and regulatory, political and economic shifts.

Required profile

• At least 15 years of experience in sales, marketing and/or business development.
• Team management and strategy development experience.
• Fluent English and French; other languages appreciated.
• Ability to work globally in a cross-functional environment and to communicate clearly with leadership teams.

Required skills

• Strong executive engagement and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of composites materials is beneficial.
