Robotic Technician / Maker

About the role

You will be the hands that keep our robots and robot stations alive. Working closely with the Mechatronics Engineer and Chief Robot Officer, you will assemble, bring up, maintain, and repair hardware to ensure every station and machine is reliable and ready.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble robot stations and humanoid subsystems from designs, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
• Maintain, service, and repair robots and stations: diagnose faults, replace parts, and minimise downtime.
• Set up and run preventive‑maintenance routines and spare‑part tracking.
• Perform hands‑on electromechanical work: fastening, cabling, harnessing, soldering, actuator and sensor integration, and system bring‑up.
• Support and troubleshoot teleoperation and operator stations, ensuring quick fixes and productivity.
• Contribute to mechanical design by producing and modifying CAD parts, designing jigs, fixtures, brackets, and 3D‑printing or machining simple components.
• Provide DFA/DFM feedback to improve reliability, serviceability, and ease of assembly.
• Document builds, modifications, maintenance records, and repair procedures clearly.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience assembling, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical or electromechanical systems.
• Technical background in mechatronics, electromechanics, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Comfort across mechanical assembly, wiring, soldering, basic electronics and systematic troubleshooting.
• Working CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Onshape) and willingness to take on light mechanical design.
• Familiarity with modern fabrication: 3D printing, basic machining, and common workshop tools.
• Builder/hacker mindset: prototype fast, test in the real world, break things, and fix them.
• Methodical, autonomous, reliable with strong documentation instincts.
• Fluent English and ability to thrive in a fast‑moving early‑stage environment.
