Quantitative Analytics Associate Off-Cycle Internship 2027

About the role

Barclays is offering an off-cycle internship of 3 to 6 months in Paris for its Quantitative Analytics Associate programme. The role brings quantitative and analytical expertise to the Markets and Risk businesses, contributing to the design and development of risk management and trading strategies through quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling and technology. It sits within the Quantitative Analytics team, a global group of modellers and developers that supports valuation and risk management models across all asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement quantitative models and strategies to improve decision-making, pricing and risk management.
• Design and maintain high-performance trading platforms and risk systems, adding new features to improve reliability and user experience.
• Carry out research and data analysis to uncover market trends and drive innovation.
• Work with traders, sales teams and Risk and Finance stakeholders to turn business needs into scalable tech tools.
• Collaborate with compliance, IT and strategy teams to resolve system issues and improve trading infrastructure.

Required profile

• Completed (or in the final year of) a postgraduate degree, Master's or higher, in a technical discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Statistics, Calculus, Computer Science or another STEM subject.
• Fluent written and spoken English; fluent French is required, German, Italian or Spanish is desirable.
• Ideally: mathematical and programming skills, logical thinking and problem-solving, excellent communication, a team-oriented attitude and a passion for banking, financial services and capital markets.
