Project Management Officer – Ground Operations Demonstrator

About the role

Airbus UpNext is seeking a Project Management Officer to support the Head of Demonstrator for a strategic ground‑operations demonstrator. The role will help drive an ambitious proof‑of‑concept that aims to automate aircraft airside ground operations and support Airbus’s long‑term vision for future aircraft generations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Demonstrator in monitoring Time, Cost and Quality (TCQ) performance.
• Combine traditional project‑management metrics with Agile methodologies to maximise team velocity.
• Maintain and track the master schedule against a 30‑month timeline, reporting progress on key milestones.
• Monitor financial performance, tracking forecasted cost at completion against budget.
• Coordinate with central contracts, legal and procurement teams; manage tendering, contract negotiations and supply‑chain logistics.
• Ensure Intellectual Property protection clauses are included in commercial agreements.
• Lead end‑to‑end RFP cycles, preparing technical dossiers together with the Technical Leader.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project management, preferably in complex engineering or aerospace environments.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, innovative setting with frequent pivots.
• Strong analytical skills for performance tracking and financial control.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with contracts, legal, procurement and external partners.
