Postdoctoral Researcher in GNSS Signal Processing (18‑month Fixed‑term)

About the role

The Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT Atlantique) seeks a post‑doctoral researcher to join the Mathematical and Electrical Engineering department. The project focuses on improving the robustness of GNSS (GPS, Galileo) signal reception against jamming and spoofing for ArianeGroup.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the state‑of‑the‑art threats (jamming, spoofing) affecting GNSS systems.
• Model and simulate realistic GNSS and interferer signals, defining appropriate antenna array geometries.
• Design and implement spatio‑temporal signal‑processing methods, comparing classic techniques with hybrid AI approaches.
• Develop adaptive algorithms for interference detection in dynamic environments.
• Contribute to scientific publications and the valorisation of results.

Required profile

• PhD obtained within the last three years in signal processing, telecommunications or a related field.
• Strong scientific rigor, autonomy, and excellent analytical and synthesis abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in scientific English for writing and presenting results.

Required skills

• Signal processing (spatio‑temporal filtering, detection).
• Modeling and simulation of GNSS signals.
• Scientific programming (Python, MATLAB, Julia or equivalent).
• Knowledge of GNSS systems (GPS, Galileo).

What we offer

• Exceptional work environment within a leading engineering school.
• Stimulating innovation ecosystem with startups, research labs and industry partners.
• On‑site collective catering, sports and leisure offers, public‑transport support, sustainable mobility package.
• Family‑friendly benefits, extensive social protections, partial remote work, generous holidays.
