About the role

The Banque de France is looking for a Machine Operator to join its North France Fiducial Centre on a temporary fixed‑term contract of four months (September to December 2026). The position is based in a climate‑controlled workshop at the Parc du Mélantois near Lille and involves handling high‑capacity sorting equipment for banknotes.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the high‑tech banknote sorting machine.
• Load the machine, control its parameters, and ensure continuous operation.
• Identify and report any malfunctions, coordinating with the maintenance team for resolution.
• Perform manual handling tasks, including lifting loads up to 10 kg.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with security and confidentiality standards.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education (Baccalauréat) is mandatory.
• Previous experience operating automatic sorting machinery is required.
• Rigorous, methodical, and able to work well in a team.
• Availability for full‑time work, Monday to Friday.
• Strong sense of confidentiality due to the nature of the material handled.

Required skills

• Operation of high‑capacity automatic sorting machines.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting in collaboration with maintenance staff.
• Physical ability to handle loads up to 10 kg.
