Military Derivatives Technical Manager

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is building a new team within the Military Derivatives department in Toulouse. The Technical Manager will join the chief engineering and technical team to support upcoming military programmes that reinforce European sovereignty.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering CoCs and interfaces with Programs, Operations and Services.
• Prepare and update Aircraft Technical Specifications.
• Define Program Development Plan and technical reviews.
• Coordinate design technical reviews and documentation for development, certification and qualification.
• Verify system and subsystem specifications against program requirements.
• Provide inputs for ME budget, certification and qualification plans.
• Support Operations and Services with technical queries on aircraft modification.
• Coordinate ground and flight tests and modifications on Green Aircraft.
• Monitor progress and ensure on‑time, on‑quality, on‑cost deliverables.
• Liaise with industrial partners, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, stress analysis and airworthiness.

Required profile

• Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in systems and aircraft development, testing, certification and qualification.
• Proven issue‑resolution and interface‑management skills across functional groups.
• Familiarity with A330 MRTT or Airbus Single‑Aisle programmes (desirable).
• Ability to manage internal teams and external subcontractors.
• Fluent in French and English; Spanish is a plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration and negotiation skills.
• Eligibility for national security clearance.
