Maintenance Technician – Boat Yard

About the role

Le Boat is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join its boat yard in Hesse. You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the fleet for the seasonal demand, ensuring every vessel meets the highest standards of safety and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the fleet according to manufacturer schedules and customer expectations.
• Receive boats, perform winter preparations, spring commissioning, fall hauling, and stock the marine shop.
• Install electrical and mechanical equipment and carry out small fiberglass repairs (training provided).
• Collaborate with the Head Technician and Base Manager to prioritize tasks and handle emergency repairs on‑site or off‑site.
• Participate in hauling/launching, commissioning, de‑commissioning, and gas‑dock operations.
• Perform mechanical maintenance on 36‑ and 45‑ft fiberglass boats, including pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane, and hydraulic connections.
• Be on call according to a rota covering the region.

Required profile

• Technical studies or hands‑on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps or general maintenance.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with the maintenance team and customers.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work on‑site in Hesse.
• Fluency in English or French and full eligibility to work in France.
