Legal Intern, Cloud

About the role

Tencent Cloud, part of the Cloud & Smart Industries Group (CSIG), is looking for a Legal Intern to support its international legal and compliance matters. Under the supervision of senior legal counsel, you will work in an in-house legal team and gain hands-on experience. The internship is full-time and lasts six months.

Key responsibilities

• Support the legal team in advising Tencent Cloud's international business operations.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research on cloud services, data protection, AI, cybersecurity and other technology-related regulations.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in the EU and other jurisdictions, and prepare legal updates and internal briefings.
• Assist in reviewing, drafting, proofreading and translating commercial contracts and other legal documents.
• Prepare internal legal memoranda, research notes and compliance guidance.
• Organize and maintain legal documentation and help with other legal and compliance projects.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Law obtained in China or a European jurisdiction, or currently pursuing one.
• Good understanding of the EU legal and regulatory framework; prior exposure to technology, data protection or commercial law is an advantage.
• Excellent working proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese; French is a plus but not required.
• Available for a six-month full-time internship.

Required skills

• Strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills, with a solid foundation in legal principles.
• Familiarity with AI tools and legal research databases is highly desirable.
• Previous internship experience in a law firm or in-house legal department is a plus but not required.
