Junior Consultant – Fossil Fuel (Part‑time)

About the role

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Secretariat, hosted by UNEP in Paris, seeks a Junior Consultant to support its Fossil Fuels Hub. This part‑time, five‑month assignment focuses on coordinating the Fossil Fuel MR2R Network, the Fossil Fuel Regulatory Programme, and related events.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and coordinate the Fossil Fuel MR2R Network and Regulatory Programme in collaboration with Fossil Fuel Experts.
• Assist in designing, managing, and communicating events such as meetings, panels, and webinars.
• Maintain relationships with state and non‑state partners to promote reductions in methane and black carbon emissions.
• Track actions, prepare read‑outs, and ensure timely close‑out of tasks.

Required profile

• University degree (or advanced degree) in climate policy, international relations, trade, or related fields.
• Understanding of peer‑to‑peer platforms, methane and short‑lived climate pollutant emissions, and mitigation opportunities.
• Experience supporting country and stakeholder engagement, with established networks of strategic actors.
• Fluency in English (written and oral); knowledge of an additional UN language (e.g., French or Chinese) is a plus.

• Proficiency in preparing meeting and event documentation, key messages, and content.
• Planning, action‑tracking, and close‑out competency.
• Knowledge of IT systems and administrative processes.
