Insurance Compliance Counsel

About the role

Alan is looking for an Insurance Compliance Counsel to lead the company’s compliance posture on insurance products across its European markets. You will act as the primary expert on regulatory obligations, translating them into practical processes, product designs and tooling while ensuring a seamless member experience.

Key responsibilities

• Define how regulatory requirements (IDD, duty of advice, product governance, AML/CFT, etc.) are implemented in Alan’s operations, products and tools.
• Identify compliance risks, assess exposure and develop mitigation plans in collaboration with legal, product and operations teams.
• Lead and continuously improve the complaints‑management framework for France, Belgium and Spain, aligning with ACPR recommendations and local equivalents.
• Serve as the main interface with regulators, handling audits, reporting and remediation of findings.
• Support the expansion into new geographies by adapting group compliance frameworks to local rules and establishing foundational compliance structures.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of insurance regulation in Europe, including IDD, AML/CFT and consumer‑protection rules.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams (legal, product, operations, sales) to embed compliance into product development.
• Proven ability to manage regulatory audits and interact with supervisory authorities.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a proactive risk‑management mindset.
