Inland Agent – Single Carrier

About the role

The Inland Agent – Single Carrier is the operational hub for landside transportation in France. You will coordinate trucks, barges and rail services to ensure containers move efficiently and on time, acting as the link between customers, carriers, terminals and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and dispatch daily truck, barge and rail transportation activities.
• Allocate transport orders to carriers while optimizing fleet utilization.
• Monitor execution, manage delays, disruptions and exceptions.
• Coordinate with trucking companies, rail operators, terminals and depots.
• Ensure containers are collected and delivered according to customer requirements and service levels.
• Maintain accurate data in the Transport Management System (TMS).
• Communicate shipment status and operational issues to internal teams and customers.
• Investigate and resolve transportation exceptions and customer escalations.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and KPI achievement.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards and transportation regulations.

Required profile

• Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain or container operations.
• Knowledge of road and/or rail transportation operations.
• Understanding of transport planning and dispatch activities.
• Strong organizational, planning and prioritisation skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Problem‑solving, decision‑making and excellent stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with attention to detail.
• Fluent French and good English communication skills.

Required skills

• Transport Management Systems (TMS) – experience preferred.
