Head of GenAI Platform

About the role

We are seeking a Head of GenAI Platform to define and drive the technical strategy behind Photoroom's generative AI platform. The role combines deep ML expertise, organisational leadership and product thinking to enable rapid delivery of breakthrough AI products.

Key responsibilities

• Define long‑term vision and technical strategy for the GenAI Platform, covering model orchestration, evaluation, agentic workflows and foundation‑model training.
• Partner with the Infrastructure team to ensure inference infrastructure and model‑serving remain scalable, reliable and cost‑efficient for billions of requests.
• Collaborate with Research to accelerate the transition of new models from prototype to production.
• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of ML engineers, software engineers and researchers, while day‑to‑day management stays with existing engineering leads.
• Build evaluation frameworks that consistently measure model quality, cost and latency across the platform.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering and executive leadership to align platform investments with product innovation.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in Machine Learning or AI organisations, originally coming from a hands‑on ML engineering or research role.
• Track record of building and operating AI platforms, including model orchestration and evaluation pipelines, and partnering effectively with infrastructure teams.
• Deep technical expertise in Generative AI, Computer Vision or Foundation Models and experience taking emerging technologies to production at scale.
• Demonstrated ability to grow high‑performing engineering and research teams through hiring, coaching and organisational design.
• Strong product instincts and ability to balance long‑term technical investments with immediate customer impact.
