Head of Embedded Software Platform OS & Technologies

About the role

L-Acoustics, a global leader in professional sound systems, is looking for a Head of Embedded Software Platform OS & Technologies attached to the Director of Technology, Electronics. The role leads a team exploring technologies and developing reusable components and platform solutions, covering real-time operating systems, time-sensitive networking and system security.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the platform OS (real-time Linux and security) and technologies (networking, FPGA) teams delivering software platforms to the Embedded Software and Audio Development Team.
• Act as a lead developer, giving technical guidance, mentoring the team and contributing to the codebase.
• Estimate, validate and track progress and skill requirements, anticipate bottlenecks and risks, and escalate issues with product managers and product owners.
• Ensure software is robust, future-proof, efficient and maintainable, and enforce coding standards and architecture with the director and peers.
• Work with the head of Embedded Software Validation to define test plans and monitor compliance with development processes and quality standards.
• Manage the Embedded Platform OS and Technologies team: coach and train, evaluate performance, keep the team informed of schedules and changes, and support stakeholder communication and requirements.

Required profile

• Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in embedded systems engineering and bringing products to market.
• Strong knowledge of embedded software development processes and life cycle.
• Good problem-solving, organizational and leadership skills, and fluent English.
