GlobalABC Intern – Strategic Communications, Partnerships & Events

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking interns to support its Sectoral Transition Section in Paris. The role focuses on strategic communications, partnership development, and event coordination for the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC).

Key responsibilities

• Support private‑sector engagement by researching prospective partners, mapping funding opportunities, and maintaining stakeholder databases.
• Assist in preparing outreach materials, concept notes, and partnership proposals, and help organise bilateral meetings and stakeholder consultations.
• Plan and coordinate conferences, workshops, webinars and other events, including agenda setting, speaker logistics and sustainable event practices.
• Develop audience‑focused content, produce multimedia assets (short videos, graphics, animations) and adapt technical reports into accessible communications products.
• Manage digital communications on GlobalABC’s LinkedIn channel, support social‑media campaigns, monitor engagement metrics and contribute to basic analytics.
• Update website content, draft articles, news items and promotional assets, and help maintain multimedia libraries and shared resources.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree, or recent graduate (within one year).
• Preferred fields of study: International Relations, Economics, Politics, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies or Business Management with a strong interest in sustainability.
• Fluency in English (required); French is the UN Secretariat’s working language.
