National Consultant – Public Awareness Campaigns for Chile Ozone Unit

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks a National Consultant to support the Chilean National Ozone Unit (NOU) in designing and delivering public awareness campaigns on the phase‑out of HCFCs and the phase‑down of HFCs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement dissemination strategies and related outreach materials for HPMP‑III and KIP‑I stages.
• Prepare and execute awareness activities, digital and social media content, publications and training support.
• Coordinate closely with the Ozone Unit, ensuring alignment with priorities and communication guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field.
• At least four years of experience creating public awareness or outreach programmes, managing media and social media campaigns, and editing environmental publications.
• Fluency in oral and written Spanish; knowledge of other UN languages is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience developing communication materials for environmental programmes, preferably related to the Montreal Protocol.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and engage public and private stakeholders.
