Global Strategic Buyer (m/f)

About the role

BASF Agri-Production, a manufacturing subsidiary of BASF Agricultural Solutions located near Lyon, France, is hiring a global strategic buyer (permanent position). The buyer develops and executes global sourcing strategies for assigned categories and drives their implementation across regions and sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for assigned categories and implement them across regions and sites
• Lead global tenders and negotiations, establish framework agreements and build preferred supplier networks
• Consolidate demand, promote standardization and identify cost reduction opportunities through bundling, optimization and strategic sourcing
• Manage supplier performance, mitigate risks and work with category managers, sites, engineering and supply chain stakeholders worldwide
• Monitor supplier performance indicators, support continuous improvement and contribute to procurement and sustainability targets

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, engineering or a comparable field
• At least three to five years of professional experience in strategic sourcing, category management or procurement in a global, multi-site environment
• Very good English and sound knowledge of SAP and common Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, analytical thinking and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
