General Accountant

About the role

Sparteo, an AI-powered advertising technology company, is strengthening its accounting team with a General Accountant who takes full ownership of recurring operational work, end to end. The role reports to the Group Accounting Manager and suits someone autonomous and self-driven in a remote organisation. Automated invoicing is being rolled out, so adaptability to new tools is required.

Key responsibilities

• Banking: bank statement entry and bank reconciliation across the group's entities
• Monthly closing: accrued charges, unpaid invoices, accrued expenses and accrued interest
• Payroll entries: analytical split of salaries and bonuses, paid-leave provisions and reversals
• Fixed assets and intercompany: recognition and depreciation entries, intercompany entries
• Accounts receivable/payable: customer invoicing follow-up, weekly billing review, collections and dunning
• Purchase invoices: processing in Yooz (import, review, user and workflow maintenance)
• Expenses: expense management and reconciliation in Spendesk
• Tax: monthly/quarterly VAT returns (CA3), corporate income tax installments and CVAE, DAS2 declaration
• Internal operations: accounting tickets (Jira) and finance process documentation

Required profile

• Accounting degree (Bachelor's to Master's level)
• At least 3 years in an accounting firm or 3 years as an accountant in a start-up / scale-up
• Rigor, autonomy and comfort in a remote setting
• Fluent French and professional English

Required skills

• Yooz, Spendesk or equivalent tools (a plus)
• Openness to automation and AI-assisted tools
