Cybersecurity Engineer – Maritime OT/IT

About the role

Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join its dedicated Cyber‑Security department at the La Défense headquarters. You will work on certifying the cybersecurity of commercial ships and onboard equipment, supporting the maritime industry to improve cyber‑resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Certify the cybersecurity of OT/IT architectures of ships (in service or under construction) according to Bureau Veritas standards (NR 659) and international standards.
• Certify the cyber‑resilience of connected equipment following IEC 62443.
• Support shipowners, shipyards and equipment manufacturers to enhance cyber‑resilience of vessels and onboard systems.
• Conduct on‑site studies to secure ships and related equipment.
• Prepare training kits and deliver training to BV M&O experts worldwide, either in‑person or remotely.

Required profile

• Academic background focused on cybersecurity of industrial systems, preferably with maritime applications.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity topics such as risk analysis, threat monitoring and technology trends.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and work both independently and in a team.
• Very good English proficiency for oral and written communication.
• Willingness to travel on short trips in France and abroad.

Required skills

• Cybersecurity certification of OT/IT architectures.
• Knowledge of IEC 62443 standard for cyber‑resilience.
• Knowledge of Bureau Veritas NR 659 standard.
• Risk analysis and threat assessment.
