Customer Success Manager – Public Sector & Defense (France)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Customer Success Manager to lead our strategic French public‑sector and defence accounts, helping government organisations adopt Cohere’s AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the success, adoption and growth of French public‑sector customers, building trusted relationships with senior officials such as ministers, prefects and CIOs.
• Develop and execute success plans aligned with government missions, budget cycles and regulatory constraints, and act as the executive sponsor for each account.
• Guide customers through the full AI adoption lifecycle, from use‑case identification and pilot design to secure production deployment and scaling.
• Navigate French public‑sector challenges such as legacy integration, data sensitivity, public procurement processes and compliance with RGPD and ANSSI standards.
• Conduct executive business reviews, demonstrate ROI and drive contract renewals and account expansion.

Required profile

• 8+ years in customer success, account management or strategic consulting within enterprise or French government contexts.
• 3‑5 years working directly with French ministries, regional authorities or public institutions on digital transformation projects.
• Active Confidential‑Defense or higher security clearance (mandatory) and fluent French.
• Deep knowledge of French public‑sector procurement, legislation and security frameworks (RGPD, ANSSI, France Cloud).

Required skills

• AI/ML and generative AI (GenAI, LLM, conversational AI) implementation.
• Cloud and enterprise software deployment in secure or highly regulated environments.
• Experience with secure on‑premises AI solutions and French language support.
• Understanding of explainability, accessibility and ethical AI requirements.
