Corrosion & RBI Engineer

About the role

Vulcain Engineering is seeking a Corrosion & RBI Engineer to support integrity and inspection programmes on major energy and industrial projects. The role involves managing corrosion data, conducting risk‑based inspection (RBI) studies and coordinating technical solutions with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Corrosion Loop Reports and gather input data for RBI studies, including equipment lists, material data sheets and line lists.
• Identify deterioration mechanisms and define inspection strategies in partnership with process, HSE and operations teams.
• Perform RBI assessments using client‑selected software such as Meridium and produce well‑documented RBI reports with clear assumptions and technical justifications.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients, partners and internal stakeholders, providing weekly progress updates to the RBI Lead.
• Contribute to project follow‑up and ensure alignment with project schedules.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Process Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Corrosion Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience applying RBI methodologies in oil & gas or energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of API 580 and API 581 standards.
• Proficiency in reading EPC documentation such as PDS, MDS, GAD, P&IDs and line lists.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
