Chief of Staff / General Manager – France (Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for a Chief of Staff / General Manager to launch and lead our client’s French operations. Based in Paris, you will act as the CEO’s right‑hand in Europe, translating the company’s AI‑driven vision into concrete execution.

Key responsibilities

• Set up the French subsidiary, overseeing legal, administrative and operational foundations.
• Bridge the New York commercial hub with the Paris deep‑tech R&D ecosystem, ensuring alignment across global teams.
• Drive business development through a “Strategic Diagnostic” approach, engaging C‑level stakeholders and accelerating ROI demonstration.
• Lead funding initiatives with public institutions such as Bpifrance, coordinating grant applications and compliance.
• Develop the local ecosystem by building relationships with industry, academia and public bodies across France and Europe.
• Recruit and organize a high‑performance technical team, including Forward Deployed Architects and PhD researchers.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, business or a related field.
• 8–15 years of experience in strategy consulting, high‑growth startups or hybrid strategic‑operational roles.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and influence senior stakeholders in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.
• Strong understanding of AI and deep‑tech B2B landscapes, with the capacity to translate technical concepts into business actions.
• Deep knowledge of the French innovation ecosystem, public institutions and corporate environment.
• Fluent English with excellent communication and synthesis skills.
