Backend Engineer – AI‑powered Legal Tech

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to help build the core infrastructure of an AI‑driven platform that automates legal workflows for notaries and real‑estate professionals. You will work in a small, high‑trust engineering team that is shaping the product architecture as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain clean, well‑tested REST APIs using FastAPI.
• Implement business logic for document processing, data flows, and AI‑driven features.
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL schemas and queries with SQLAlchemy.
• Integrate third‑party services such as Stripe, HubSpot, OCR and other AI providers.
• Develop background jobs and asynchronous pipelines using Celery and Redis.
• Write unit and integration tests, set up CI pipelines, and ensure reliability at scale.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional backend development experience with Python.
• Strong understanding of REST API design and testing practices.
• Experience working in fast‑feedback, small‑team environments.
• Ability to write maintainable, production‑ready code and take ownership of features.
