Android Software Engineer

About the role

amo is looking for an early member of its Android team in Paris. You will take part in all design and product decisions during the early days of a product-centric company, working closely with the founding team before gradually owning central components and features. The company values engineers who go deep in their domain and build cross-company platform components.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality UI features, using low-level APIs, shader creation for dynamic effects and custom rendering systems
• Build and improve platform components used by other Android engineers, such as media encoding, decoding and playback, performance-tracing libraries, navigation and deeplink handling
• Contribute to roadmap creation and ideation, helping identify trade-offs between product and engineering views
• Share knowledge through conferences, online communities and internal talks
• Monitor analytics, manage system crashes and proactively triage bug fixes

Required profile

• Native Android development experience with Kotlin or Java
• Understanding of computer systems fundamentals (program execution, linking, multithreading, memory management, processes and file systems)
• Experience building consumer-facing products and building SDKs or libraries for others
• Experience in C or C++ is a significant advantage
• No French or perfect English required; the company helps newcomers ramp up
