AI Software Engineer

About the role

amo is looking for an early member of its AI Operations team, which integrates AI across all levels of the company. You will work closely with the founding team in the first months, gradually taking ownership of central components and features. The company values deep expertise and expects every team member to become a subject matter expert in their domain.

Key responsibilities

• Work with product and design teams to prototype and ship AI-powered features that improve the user experience.
• Design and implement scalable APIs and microservices for AI systems in production, and monitor and optimise their performance, cost and accuracy.
• Build and maintain AI-driven developer tools, and integrate AI-based monitoring, code analysis and release automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Evaluate new models, frameworks and APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, etc.) to improve engineering processes.
• Integrate AI-powered QA solutions that generate and run tests, detect regressions and flag anomalies, and work with QA engineers on intelligent validation pipelines.
• Contribute to roadmap creation, propose new AI-driven opportunities and help define internal standards for developing, deploying and measuring AI.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional development experience using Kotlin or Java.
• Familiarity with AI concepts such as large language models, prompt engineering, RAG and multi-agent systems.
• Good understanding of computer systems fundamentals (program execution, linking, multithreading, memory management, processes and file systems).
• Experience with distributed systems in production is a significant advantage.
• Passion and experience building consumer-facing products.
• No French or perfect English required; the company helps newcomers ramp up.

What we offer

• Onsite work 5 days a week in a central Paris office near Opera, with health care coverage and maternity, paternity and second-parent leave with salary maintained at 100%.
• 8-9 weeks of vacation per year, including 5 weeks of paid time off, 1-2 additional weeks (RTT) and about 11 bank holidays, plus two shutdowns of two weeks in summer and one week in winter.
