Adjunct Professor – Fashion (Pattern Making & Sewing)

About the role

Paris College of Art is seeking a part‑time Adjunct Professor to teach two first‑year fashion courses: Pattern Making and Introduction to Professional Sewing. The courses run across the Fall and Spring semesters, beginning in early September, with weekly Thursday sessions of four hours each.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures and hands‑on studio sessions for Pattern Making.
• Teach Introduction to Professional Sewing, guiding students through garment construction techniques.
• Develop and update course materials, assignments, and assessment criteria.
• Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to first‑year fashion design students.
• Foster a structured yet creative learning environment that encourages critical thinking and cross‑disciplinary collaboration.

Required profile

• Extensive professional experience in pattern making and garment construction.
• Strong enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring emerging fashion designers.
• Ability to create a balanced, creative classroom atmosphere for first‑year students.
• Proven teaching skills, curriculum development experience, and a portfolio demonstrating design excellence.
• Master’s or terminal degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience; prior university‑level teaching preferred.
• Understanding of European and global art and design contexts is a plus.
• Fluency in English required; French proficiency is an advantage.
