3PL Supplier Procurement Director

About the role

JD.com is seeking a senior leader to design and execute a European‑wide procurement strategy for third‑party logistics (3PL) services, including warehousing, full‑truckload (FTL) and less‑than‑truckload (LTL) trucking, and last‑mile courier operations. The role will shape a resilient, cost‑effective supplier ecosystem that supports the company’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously optimise long‑term procurement plans for European warehousing, trucking and last‑mile services.
• Lead end‑to‑end supplier identification, evaluation, onboarding and performance management.
• Negotiate complex, multi‑year agreements covering pricing, SLAs and payment terms.
• Implement a systematic supplier management framework with tiered evaluation and incentive mechanisms.
• Monitor market trends, regulatory changes and risks, adjusting strategies proactively.
• Collaborate with operations, sales, finance and other functions to align procurement resources across logistics scenarios.

Required profile

• 8–10+ years of integrated logistics procurement experience across Europe.
• Deep knowledge of the European contract‑logistics market and an extensive local supplier network.
• Proven track record of strategic procurement planning, cost optimisation and supplier ecosystem development.
• Fluent in French and English (mandatory).
• Strong analytical, decision‑making and crisis‑management capabilities.
