Transport Lifting & Handling Architect

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Transport Lifting & Handling Architect to join its Industrial Architect team in Toulouse, France. The role focuses on designing and optimizing oversize transportation systems for aircraft components, ensuring seamless integration with aircraft design and industrial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Take technical responsibility for the end‑to‑end industrial transport system and related processes.
• Coordinate multi‑site projects, managing engineering, program, quality and supplier teams from development to delivery.
• Define general specifications for transportation jigs and oversee functional analysis and design implementation.
• Monitor project performance on time, quality and cost, providing regular reporting.
• Collaborate with procurement and multi‑functional teams for supplier selection and project closure.

Required profile

• Significant experience in industrial architecture or project management within a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of transportation jig operation principles and stress analysis methods.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage supplier relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CATIA for 3D modelling.
• Experience with finite element analysis tools such as FEM and NASTRAN.
• Familiarity with manufacturing engineering processes, including SHAPE/FUIN.
