System Designer – Shared Resources Avionic Platform

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a System Designer to lead the technical definition of the next‑generation Shared Resources Avionic Platform. You will work within the Cockpit & Platforms Avionics Department in Toulouse, focusing on Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) computers and associated data networks.

Key responsibilities

• Support TRL reviews up to TRL 6 and conduct de‑risking studies for emerging architectures such as RISC‑V and multicore processing.
• Define high‑level hardware requirements, emphasizing virtualization and interfaces with A653 RTOS solutions.
• Act as technical liaison with potential suppliers during research and pre‑development phases.
• Ensure early‑stage designs comply with ARP4754, DO‑254 and DO‑178C (DAL‑A) standards and initiate V&V and certification strategies.
• Contribute to the strategic evolution of the IMA platform roadmap.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in aerospace, electronics or a related field.
• Experience in safety‑critical system design, preferably in avionics.
• Strong understanding of certification processes for DAL‑A systems.
