Specialist EHS

About the role

The EHS Specialist will support the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of Exyte's Construction EHS Plan on site. Working primarily in the field, the role ensures that all construction activities comply with company, client, and regulatory health, safety and environmental requirements while fostering a safe, incident‑free workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site safety inspections and walkthroughs to identify unsafe conditions and behaviours.
• Monitor construction activities and verify that corrective actions from inspections, audits and EHS meetings are implemented.
• Provide on‑site EHS guidance to Construction Managers, Supervisors and workers.
• Validate the adequacy of RAMS, Safe Plans of Action and work permits where required.
• Check site infrastructure such as escape routes, emergency routes, traffic flow and lighting, reporting any deficiencies.
• Escalate unsafe situations immediately and support emergency response and Incident Free Workplace initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree (Bac +2 or equivalent) in Environment, Health & Safety.
• Minimum 2 years of construction site experience in an EHS role.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and hazard identification.
• Fluent French (mandatory) and English at B2 level or higher.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for on‑site interaction.

Required skills

• Computer literacy for EHS monitoring, reporting and documentation.
