Solution Architect – Freelance, On-site (Strasbourg)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a major European agency on a long‑term freelance basis. Based in Strasbourg, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, shaping robust, scalable architectures that support the organisation’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business and functional requirements into clear conceptual architecture models.
• Identify reusable components and define optimal technological solutions.
• Design and evolve architecture models throughout the solution lifecycle, incorporating new technologies.
• Provide detailed specifications to project teams and support issue resolution during development, testing, and operations.
• Produce customised artefacts such as reports, scripts, diagrams, and configurations.
• Analyse inter‑dependencies between systems, infrastructures, and projects to ensure coherent delivery.
• Advise on governance, modelling standards, and architecture tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technology, Data, or Applications/Services Architect.
• TOGAF Practitioner certification.
• Strong communication skills in English (minimum B2) and ability to present complex solutions to diverse audiences.

• Sparx EA (or similar modelling tools)
• Cloud, security, data, integration and networking concepts
• Experience with on‑premise, virtualised and cloud infrastructures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Knowledge of OCP, PostgreSQL and Kafka
• Agile software development practices and security best practices
