Software Engineer – Flight Simulator (Python/C++)

About the role

EGIDE is building the next generation of European air‑defence systems. We are looking for a senior Software Engineer to design and develop the core components of a high‑fidelity flight simulator for UAVs. The role combines low‑level C++ engine work with Python bindings to create a performant, physics‑accurate simulation platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable software architectures for simulation systems.
• Develop high‑performance C++ engine modules and expose them via Python bindings.
• Write unit and integration tests, set up CI/CD pipelines, and maintain version control workflows.
• Benchmark and profile code to ensure real‑time performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with domain experts to translate physical models into efficient numerical algorithms.

Required profile

• Strong experience in C++ and Python development.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and modern engineering practices.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD systems, and automated testing frameworks.
• Good foundation in mathematics, theoretical physics, and numerical methods.
• Ability to promote code quality, documentation, and reproducibility across the team.
