Software Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS)

About the role

Scaleway is looking for a Software Engineer to help design and build core IaaS and PaaS components that power its sovereign cloud platform. You will work on new cloud services from the ground up and enhance existing products to ensure reliability, scalability, and security for thousands of customers across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new IaaS/PaaS products, including APIs, backend services, and worker processes.
• Add features and improvements to existing cloud offerings.
• Increase test coverage and improve the resilience of the codebase.
• Write clear technical documentation for product usage and APIs.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and resolve customer‑facing incidents.
• Collaborate with product, design, front‑end, and documentation teams.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and propose innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Curious, methodical, and passionate about cloud infrastructure.
• Proactive in proposing and defending technical solutions.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Comfortable communicating in English, especially in written technical documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java).
• Experience building backend services and APIs.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of cloud concepts such as IaaS, PaaS, and containerization.
