Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are a fast‑growing European space company developing ultra‑light deployable structures for space applications. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will own major mechanical subsystems from concept through qualification and production, working on hardware that must meet extreme mass, volume, reliability and performance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of deployable space hardware using CATIA or Siemens NX.
• Perform structural analysis and finite element simulations to validate designs.
• Develop prototypes, conduct testing, and oversee integration of mechanical components.
• Drive the industrialisation process to move designs from laboratory to flight‑ready production.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the engineering culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing spacecraft, launch vehicles or high‑performance aerospace hardware.
• Strong mechanical design capability with CATIA, Siemens NX or similar tools.
• Hands‑on experience with FEA and structural design of lightweight, deployable mechanisms.
• Ability to take ownership of hardware from concept to flight.
