Senior Inspection Engineer – EPC Phase

About the role

Intertek is looking for a Senior Inspection Engineer to support the EPC phases of multiple projects. The role bridges design intent and on‑site execution, ensuring that materials, equipment and construction activities meet project specifications, international codes and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review engineering documentation for the Inspection Department during EPC (e.g., baseline inspection documents, RBI requirements).
• Review vendor documentation, inspection test plans (ITPs) and inspection results such as FAT, SAT and baseline reports.
• Supervise activities performed by external service providers.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (API, ASME, ASTM), project‑specific procedures and local regulations.
• Liaise with Maintenance departments to keep CMMS databases aligned with contractual setups.
• Participate in RBI assessment studies and recommend suitable inspection techniques.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Commissioning, Fabrication and Maintenance to guarantee operational readiness.
• Monitor that all activities stay within budget and schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years combined EPC and operational experience for senior level.
• At least two core API certifications (e.g., API 510, API 570, API 653).
• API 580 qualification or five years of proven RBI assessment experience.
• Strong knowledge of international codes, RBI methodology, damage mechanisms, baseline and in‑service inspections.

Required skills

• API 510, API 570, API 653 (core certifications).
• API 580 (or equivalent RBI experience).
• API 571, CSWIP/AWS certifications (nice to have).
• Familiarity with CMMS platforms such as SAP or Maximo.
• Experience with IDMS tools (Antea, Nexus, APM Meridium or equivalents).
