Research & Development Project Manager – Architecture

About the role

The Research & Development Project Manager will work within the Architecture Department of Christian Dior Couture, supporting the global sourcing of vendors for boutique interiors. Reporting to the Team Leader R&D, the role combines design research, material development and close collaboration with the Concept Design team to create high-quality decorative finishes, freestanding furniture and architectural details.

Key responsibilities

• Accompany the creative process and partner with internal teams (concept design, project development, store planning) and contractors to ensure finishes are manufacturable, cost-efficient and delivered on time.
• Identify new suppliers, innovative materials and sourcing opportunities worldwide.
• Initiate feasibility studies, prototyping and sampling for furniture, wall units and architectural details.
• Summarise findings into qualitative guidelines and maintain an up-to-date material database for all architectural teams.
• Support project managers during first-roll-out applications and improve reliability to reduce warranty, maintenance or supply-chain issues.
• Ensure activities comply with environmental policies and contribute to the worldwide millwork qualification process.
• Present R&D progress to management and architecture teams, providing regular updates.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of retail architecture or design experience within an international luxury brand.
• University degree in Design, Interior Design or Architecture.
• Fluent written and spoken English and French.
• Passion for design excellence, strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

• Grasshopper (a plus).
