Regional Threat Assessment Manager

About the role

Coinbase is seeking a Regional Threat Assessment Manager to lead its Protective Intelligence program. The role involves end‑to‑end management of complex threat cases, behavioral assessments, and coordinated response across multiple security and corporate functions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of threat cases for the assigned region, from intake and triage through mitigation planning, documentation, and closure.
• Conduct structured behavioral threat assessments using Coinbase methodologies and frameworks such as JACA, WAVR‑21, and CTAP‑25, translating findings into operational recommendations.
• Serve as the intelligence lead during active incidents, coordinating with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and ensuring timely escalation and decision support.
• Partner with Executive Protection, Legal, HR/ER, Insider Threat, Communications, and other stakeholders to align response actions and manage reporting obligations.
• Produce briefings, written assessments, and executive updates that clearly communicate threat posture, risk rationale, and recommended next steps.
• Enhance regional program maturity by improving intake standards, QA/QC, playbooks, metrics, training, and handoff processes, and mentor peers.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive experience in threat assessment, protective intelligence, workplace violence prevention, or related security functions.
• Proven ability to operate as a senior individual contributor and regional subject‑matter expert, handling ambiguous, high‑consequence cases with limited oversight.
• Experience coordinating with law enforcement and managing investigative referrals across jurisdictions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with case management and intelligence tools such as Ontic and OSINT platforms.
• Expertise in public records research and social media monitoring.
• Familiarity with structured professional‑judgment frameworks (e.g., JACA, WAVR‑21, CTAP‑25).
• Responsible use of generative AI to improve workflow efficiency while maintaining human oversight.
