Propulsion System Architect for R&T Project

About the role

ATR is seeking a senior Propulsion System Architect to lead the definition and development of the next‑generation propulsion architecture within a research‑and‑technology (R&T) project. The role will guide the concept from initial studies through flight demonstration and eventual production implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Envision and evaluate various propulsion architectures, including thermal engines, propellers, control systems and hybridisation solutions.
• Assess alternatives with a multidisciplinary team and define functional architecture dossiers and interface specifications.
• Develop technical requirements and coordinate activities with engine and propeller manufacturers.
• Support safety and verification‑validation planning, ensuring hardware and software compliance with requirements.
• Contribute to safety analyses for ground and flight tests.

Required profile

• Engineering degree specialized in aeronautics, aircraft systems or propulsion.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in propulsion system design, development or integration.
• Strong analytical rigor, proactive attitude and ability to produce clear, synthetic analyses.
• Fluent in English and French; Italian is a plus.
